Calculators FAQs
Why is removing a percentage different from subtracting it?
An included percentage is based on the original amount. To remove an 18% increase from 1,180, divide by 1.18 rather than subtracting 18% of 1,180.
Why can an EMI estimate differ from a repayment schedule?
A schedule may use different payment dates, rounding, charges or interest conventions. Compare the assumptions and inputs before comparing the displayed monthly amounts.
Does an SIP projection guarantee a future return?
No. It illustrates the contribution schedule, duration and assumed return you enter. Actual returns and charges can differ from those assumptions.
Should I enter a duration in months or years?
Use the unit shown next to the input. If you change the unit, convert the value as well; entering the same number in a different unit changes the calculation.
Why do repeated calculations differ after rounding?
Rounding removes precision at each step. Keep unrounded intermediate values where possible and round the final displayed result according to the precision your task requires.
